2026 Annual Swains Lake Fall Drawdown Schedule

 The Town of Barrington has announced that the annual fall drawdown of Swains Lake will begin during the second week of October 2026.

The Swains Lake Association received official notice from Barrington Town DPW Mike Nadeau regarding the schedule for this season's lake drawdown:

• Start Date: The second week of October 2026.

• Duration: Drawdown will proceed gradually through mid-November.

• Flow Rate: Although the new box culvert on Lakeside Oaks allows for a significantly faster drawdown, the town will maintain the standard, gradual pace to protect the watershed and shoreline.

• Low Water Level Maintenance: Once the lake reaches its low point in mid-November, the level will be maintained using the new stop logs.
