The winter of 2015 was definitely one to remember! The heavy snowfall and snowstorms were a challenge! For those who enjoy the winter activities the lake has to offer, it was a banner year for certain.
On April 14 we declared it Spring, (unofficially) as it was the date of “ice-out” on Swains Lake! The Summer is already proving to be full of sunny, warm days full of fun and relaxation.
The Swains Lake Association Committee resumed monthly meetings this spring to discuss and resolve various
topics impacting the membership. That said, several important activities have taken place over the winter months including the renewal of membership for the Loon Association and the NH Lakes Association. We have been in communication with the State on new signage for Ski Crafts Rules to be posted at the Boat Launch. The 2015 water testing team has been out and we thank all that participate for their help. The annual water report measures water quality and clarity and can be found on our website for your review.
Our website and Facebook page continue to grow and we will be sharing information on Lake Happenings throughout the year. We will continue to put emphasis on understanding Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) and sharing visual tools.
Plans are in the works for a Fourth of July Boat Parade this year, it will be a fun time decorating your boat and sharing some laughs with others on the Lake! We will be sharing more information as we get closer to this date on the Website and Facebook page. We encourage all to participate in this fun event!
Wishing everyone a terrific and safe summer on Swains Lake!!
