Note from the Chief: Fire Permits

Written permits are required for all outside burning unless there is adequate snow cover. Campfire permits are issued on a seasonal basis after being inspected by us. Campfire rings must be a minimum of 25 feet away from any structure including decks fences etc.(I know this can be a challenge in some lakeside lots) no bigger than 3 feet in diameter and no low tree canopies around the fire pit. The only thing that can be burned is clean wood smaller than 5 inches in diameter. NO paper, trash, construction debris, painted materials furniture. Also NH requires that campfire wood must come from in state.
